The Local Area Agreement brings together statutory, voluntary and commercial organisations to achieve strategic goals. Achieving these goals results in reward income from central government. Junk Swaps an outstanding success!
Chelmsford Environment Partnership (CEP) have published the report for their 'Win with Waste' project, part-funded by a Seedcorn grant from ECORRN. The project aimed to monitor recycling levels in Chelmsford and then change the behaviour of 1 in 3 of the non-participating households. Calculating Tonnages for Bulky Waste
LondonCRN have redeveloped the standard measurements for calculating tonnages from bulky waste. (Aug 2005 FRN weights from ECORRN/WasteWISE base, earlier original by Beni Benstead). It is now easy and even more accurate to estimate your tonnages. Simply input the number of each item you 'reuse' and it will calculate the total tonnes for you! Analysis of Community Re-use & Recycling in Essex, Southend and Thurrock
ECORRN (Essex Community Re-use and Recycling Network) embarked upon a project which aimed to quantify the level of re-use and recycling by community organisations/projects within Essex. A survey was sent out to the community organisations to investigate what types of material are being re-used and recycled and this report describes the findings.

Thanks to the Big Lottery SEED Fund (the Social, Economic and Environment Development programme) for funding the production of this survey and directory, and giving ECORRN the base to grow, and promote community reuse/recycling in Essex.
Analysis of bulky waste collections and bulky CA waste residue

ECORRN have completed this first draft of a project with the aim of quantifying and assessing the current practice, in household bulky waste collections by districts and unitaries in Essex and analyses diversion opportunities. It is based on responses from 9 districts, Essex County Council and unitary Thurrock Borough Council.
Comments on this report are very welcome. This report is now being developed on and expanded by LCRN (London Community Recycling Network)in Partnership with ECORRN to link the findings in this report to detailed analysis of the community furniture reuse projects in Essex, Southend and Thurrock.
